First quarry tramway on any map (1828) named as ‘Rail Road’ from ‘Fancy Quarry’ in Wide Street leading into a strip field in Inmosthay, the origin of the Fancy Beach waste tip. Also shown on 1832 map. 1841 map shows quarry in Wide Street but not named. Subsequently destroyed by quarrying.
