Summary
Cliff exposure on east side of Freshwater Bay may have been quarried by 1841, with some small quarrying in 1863 and 1901. Existing small quarry is on two levels, last worked in 1980s. Waste tips (SY 69097020) have blocks with lines of machine-drilled holes. Blocks are not built with a bank wall but tipped, including down cliff to shore.

Full Description
Cliff exposure on east side of Freshwater Bay may have been quarried by 1841 (1), with some small quarrying in 1863 and 1901 (2-3). Existing small quarry is on two levels, last worked in 1980s. Waste tips (SY 69097020) have blocks with lines of machine-drilled holes. Blocks are not built with a bank wall but tipped, including down cliff to shore. (4)
