Full Description

A house is described by the Royal Commission as "House, with walls of rubble, was built in the 17th century but has been extensively modernised, Inside, it retains some exposed chamfered ceiling-beams, a plank partition and three original door frames." (1) The location of this building is given as immediately northwest of 133-139 North Allington. A house is shown on early maps in this location (2) (3) (4) (5). This building was demolished at some time between 1967 and 1972. If the identification of the building described in the Royal Commission inventory is correct, then it is no longer extant.
