Full Description

A house is described by the Royal Commission as "House, on the E. side of North Allington 910 yards N.W. of the church, has walls of squared and coursed local ston. The original symmetrical front has a central doorway with flanking fluted columns supporting a pediment framing a semi-circular fanlight. There is a dentil eaves cornice." (1) There is no building on this part of North Allington answering to this description. It is possible that this house was at the corner of North Allington and Fullbrooks Lane, as shown on the historic Ordnance Survey maps (2) (3) (4). This house was demolished in the 1950s or early 1960s.
