Full Description
'Burial, Portesham; SY(30)/608852. In September 1953 parts of a human skeleton were found in building a house on land formerly belonging to Mr. Hardy Manfield, across the lane running by the west end of the church, and some reference appeared in the press. An inquest was held, and the bones, which were not thought to be more than about 200 years old, were disposed of. Mrs. E. Corbett kindly verified the site for me.' {1}
