Friar Waddon was a medieval manor and hamlet but is now only a farm. Fragments of this shrunken hamlet are still visible as low earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs.

Full Description
Friar Waddon was anciently a manor and hamlet but is now only a farm. At Domesday Friar Waddon was held by the French nunnery of St Mary, Montevilliers {1}.
Fragments of this shrunken medieval hamlet are still visible as low earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs {2-7}. Remains comprise of banks, ditches, holloways and trackways and were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
