Summary

A lime kiln recorded as ‘limekiln’ on the first edition (1886) and ‘old limekiln’ on the second edition (1900-1902) Ordnance Survey map. The date of this kiln is not known but it is most likely to be late nineteenth century. The site was visited in 1992-93 by Peter Stanier, who noted that some (40-59%) of the kiln survived in poor condition. It was not possible to determine what type of kiln construction this was.
