Summary

Forty pits are visible as cropmarks and low earthworks on aerial photographs. They are probably the sites of post medieval chalk pits. Located within the area of the Winterbourne Abbas Corridor Geophysical Suvey in 2017 (EDO7852) but was not detected.

Full Description

Forty pits are visible as cropmarks and low earthworks on aerial photographs. They are probably the sites of post medieval chalk pits. {1-9}. Located within the area of the Winterbourne Abbas Corridor Geophysical Suvey in 2017 (EDO7852) in field 44C but the report specifically says that nothing of significance was seen in this field.
