Monument record MDO21681 - Littlewood Farm: enclosure
Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
A possible enclosure is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs. It appears to cut the medieval strip field system (MDO1178) within which it is situated and is therefore likely to be post-medieval or later in date. However, excavation by Bournemouth University during 1998 demonstrated that this enclosure was a construction camp for the Dorchester Roman Aqueduct.
