Monument record MDO21768 - Lime kiln near Osmington

Summary
A lime kiln recorded as ‘old limekiln’ on the second edition (1900-2), and ‘kiln’ on the 1963 Ordnance Survey map. The date of the kiln is not known but it is most likely to be late nineteenth century. This kiln was visited by Peter Stanier in 1992-93, and he noted that very little (1-19%) of the structure survived; what remained was in bad condition and it was not possible to determine what type of kiln construction this was.
