Monument record MDO220 - Lime kiln at Higher Langdon, Beaminster
Please read our guidance about the use of Dorset Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
A lime kiln recorded as ‘limekiln’ on the 1901 Ordnance Survey map. The date of the kiln is not known but it is most likely to be late nineteenth century. This kiln was visited in 1992-93 by Peter Stanier, who noted that very little (1-19%) of the structure survived; what remained was in bad condition and it was not possible to determine what type of kiln construction this was.
