Summary

A bowl barrow, one of a scattered group along a north-south ridge. In 1970 this monument was reported as being around 52 feet in diameter with a mound about 3 feet high. The centre of the mound has been dug into, presumably the result of antiquarian investigation.

Full Description

A bowl barrow. Diameter 25 paces, height 1ft. Hollow centre. <2> A bowl barrow, situated on arable land, with no evidence of a ditch or excavation. Flat topped with many flints exposed. Diameter 24.0 metres, height 0.7 metres. <3> SY 74179676. Bowl barrow. 52 ft. diameter and 3ft. high on the east side of a ridge; has been dug in the centre. <4> "SY 742968. (presumably refers to the above barrow) and SY 741965. Two round barrows south west of Well House Cottage". Scheduled. <5> SY 74179678. Bowl barrow in arable, ploughed down. Diameter 14.0 metres, height 0.3 metres. No visible ditch. Re-surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <6>
