Pier associated with Whitehead's Torpedo Factory first shown on an Ordnance Survey map of 1930. (1)
A pier is visible at this location on aerial photographs of Wyke Regis taken in the 1940's (2-3). This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). Submerged remains of this structure are still visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project (4).
