Summary

Hospital first shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1900. Cottage hospital built in 1887 to designs by W J Fletcher, as a memorial of the Jubilee. The building is of two-storeys, red brick with gabled slated roofs. Additions and improvements were added 1903-07 and a new wing opened in 1931.
