Full Description
In January 1849 a "remarkable collection of gold ornaments" was discovered at Whitfield Farm. They consist of armillae of various types, some torc ornaments others plain, and fragments of an ornament of unknown use. They were discovered about 18" below the surface while drains were being dug in pasture. The collection was shown at the Dublin Industrial Exhibition in 1853, since when all trace of the objects has been lost. <1-2>
