Full Description
A medieval holloway, aligned approximately NNE-SSW, was visible as an earthwork Within Stour Park, Blandford St Mary, prior to development of a retail park there in 1993. Excavation in advance of development revealed that the holloway dated from the 12th-15th centuries [1][2][3].
The holloway appears to coninue the line of a track on the south side of Bournemouth Road, visible on late 19th and early 20th century editions of the Ordnace Survey. This track has now been replaced by Knights Close and Birch Avenue.
