A small round hollow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the north of Upton Fort. It may be the site of a post medieval extractive pit although its near circular shape may be indicative of it being the site of a WWII bomb crater.

A small round hollow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the north of Upton Fort {1}. It may be the site of a post medieval extractive pit although its near circular shape may be indicative of it being the site of a WWII bomb crater. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
