Please read our .

Summary

A lime kiln recorded as ‘limekiln’ on the second edition (1901) Ordnance Survey map and ‘old limekiln’ on the 1928 revision of the Ordnance Survey map. The date of the kiln is not known but it is most likely to be late nineteenth century. This kiln was visited in 1992-93 by Peter Stanier, who noted that very little (1-19%) of the structure survived in bad condition, and that it was not possible to determine what type of construction this was.
