Summary
A group of pits are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs. They are considered likely to be extractive pits of post medieval origin. Alternatively some could also be natural shake holes.
Possibly detected in the Winterbourne Abbas Corridor Geophysical Suvey in 2017 (EDO7852).

Full Description
A group of pits are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs {1-8}. They are considered likely to be extractive pits of post medieval origin. Alternatively some could also be natural shake holes. They were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
Possibly detected in the Winterbourne Abbas Corridor Geophysical Suvey in 2017 (EDO7852). However, interpretation of the anomalies detected in field 414B was deemed problematic.
