Summary

A group of three pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs. Two are shown on the 1880 OS map as chalk pits and are considered likely to be of post medieval origin. The close proximity of the third pit suggests it is probably of a similar origin.

A group of three pits are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs {1-3}. Two are shown on the 1880 OS map {4} as chalk pits and are considered likely to be of post medieval origin. The close proximity of the third pit suggests it is probably of a similar origin. They were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
