Summary
A number of linear extractive pits are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs on Hewish Hill to the north of Dairy House Coppice. They appear to closely follow the underlying geological strata which is also visible as low earthworks and cropmarks.

A number of linear extractive pits are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs on Hewish Hill to the north of Dairy House Coppice {1-2}. They appear to closely follow the underlying geological strata which is also visible as low earthworks and cropmarks. The features were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
