Two lengths of barbed wire/ scaffolding on Chesil Beach are visible as strips of parallel lines, one 1.5km and the other 1km in length, on aerial photographs {1}. These are the remains of World War Two beach defences. The site was digitally plotted for the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping project.
