A World War II coastal observation post situated on The Knoll. It is a square-shaped building constructed of brick and concrete and was built in 1940-41. The post faces north and most probably interacted with the three pillboxes on the reverse side of The Knoll which are part of the Chesil Beach defences. A field visit in 1995 found the structure to be in a good condition. The post is visible on aerial photographs and was digitally plotted for the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping project.
