Full Description

A number of features probably dating to World War II are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs in the vicinity of Higher Barn and South Sleight Coppice {1-2}. The features include a number of buildings, possibly nissen huts, a small curvilinear enclosure and several mounds. They are situated within the Abbotsbury Defence which was defended by the 6th Battalion Durham Light Infantry. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
