A small extant structure is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1942 {1} located on Chesil Beach opposite Clay Hard Point. It is potentially the site of a World War II pillbox. It is situated within the Abbotsbury Defence which was defended by the 6th Battalion Durham Light Infantry. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
