A linear fetaure is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs {1}, running from the landing stage on Chesil Beach opposite Morkhams Lake towards the site of a WWII pillbox. It is considered to date to WWI and may be the line of a cable. It is situated within the Abbotsbury Defence which was defended by the 6th Battalion Durham Light Infantry. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
