Summary
A linear bank is visible as a partially submerged feature on aerial photographs taken in 1940. It runs from the tank trap on Chesil Beach across the western end of the Fleet. It is possibly of military origin and maybe a causeway or continuation of the anti-tank defence.

A linear bank is visible as a partially submerged feature on aerial photographs taken in 1940 {1}. It runs from the tank trap on Chesil Beach across the western end of the Fleet. It is possibly of military origin and maybe a causeway or continuation of the anti-tank defence. The feature was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
