Summary

Parish Church, C14 nave and aisles, with C14/15 chancel, C15 west tower. South porch rebuilt in 1848. Organ chamber and north vestry built in 1894. Rubble-stone and ashlar walls. Slate and lead roofs.

Full Description

The church of Saint Mary is of local rubble and ashlar. The chancel and nave were rebuilt about the middle of the 14th century, together with the north and south aisles. The south aisle was rebuilt again in the 15th century, when the west tower was added and the chancel rebuilt. The church was restored in the 19th century. (2,3) St Mary's Church. Grade I. Three table-tombs, 2-5m East of the chancel are listed Grade II*. (4,5) There is some evidence that Netherbury displays some evidence of minster characteristics. (6)
