Full Description
(SY 724830) Osmington Manor, situated 15 yards north of St. Osmund's Church, is a roofless and ruinous two-storeyed building of squared stone rubble. The structure is of the 17th century, but an irregular break in the masonry shows that it is not all of one build. On plan the house comprised three rooms and a through passage; a change in floor levels suggests that the east part may be a reconstruction of, initially, a Medieval hall next to the passage and a solar over a low cellar at the east end. The south front has three windows of three lights with labels and another window of two lights. The north wall has mostly fallen but the doorway to the passage remains set in a slight projection. Doorways have ovolo-moulded or hollow-chamfered jambs; two, one reset in a garden wall, have four-centred heads. <2>
The Manor House remains as described by RCHM (2) - roofless and ruinous and partly overgrown. <3>
