Summary
A detached farmhouse, built in the mid seventeenth century, with an early nineteenth-century addition at right angles on the north west. The walls of the building are of banded flint and roughcast stone. The roof is thatched, with brick chimney stack. The walls at the rear of the main range are made of chalk block, and the rear range has banded brick and stone walls.
Two gate-piers, brick with gadrooned stone finials on moulded bases, C19. Iron gates with terminating brick pier. Attached spear-top iron railings running for 28 metres to east, with terminating brick piers.

Full Description
Southover Farmhouse is an L-shaped building of two storeys built of flint and rubble with a thatched roof. The north wall retains a stone panel dated 1666.<2>
'Detached Farmhouse. Mid Cl7, with early C19 addition at right angle (north- west). Banded flint and stone walls, roughcast. Thatch roof with gable ends. Brick stacks at left hand gable, ridge centre, both C19, right hand gable, C20. Front elevation: 2 storeys. 5 windows, 2-light wooden casements with glazing- bars, ground floor, C20, with lowered cills: first floor, C19. No blockings visible. West gable end, materials exposed. Stone mullions, hollow-chamfered with lead lights, 3-light to ground floor, 2-light over, and a single lighter in the attic. Door on gable-wall, plank-and-muntin, studded, C19. Stone porch with Tuscan stone columns, C20. Rear walls of main range, chalk block with catslide thatch roof over, 2-light cast-iron casements with C19 lead quarries. Rear range, brick and stone walls, banded. Gable-end brick stack. Two C19 2-light cast-iron casements, with leaded quarries. Wood lintels. C19 door in the rear angle, flush-panelled with 2 top lights. C19 segment- headed porch.
