Summary

One of nine round barrows that makes up the Southover Heath Group. Possible barrow, now only a faint hump in arable land. This barrow is visible as a low mound, 11m across, on lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM.

Full Description

'A' Bowl barrow, 12.0m diameter and 0.4m high with no surrounding ditch, but much ploughed and spread. <2> 'A' (17) SY 80679548 Barrow ? at the north end of a ridge occupies ground sloping north east, but is now only a faint hump in arable land. <3-4> SY 807955 Round barrow west of Ashley Barn. Scheduled. (5) 'A'. SY 80669547. Barrow as described, almost ploughed out (height 0.3 metres). Resurveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <5> Round barrow (barrow 'B') NW of Ashley Barn. Scheduled. (7) This barrow is visible as a low mound, 11m across, on lidar imagery and was digitally plotted during the Upper Cerne and Piddle AIM [8].
