A human skeleton was found together with two Iron Age silver coins and a bronze socketed axe, in 1848 'at Cann' . The precise findspot is not known.

Full Description
Two Iron Age silver coins of Type F2 weighing 72 and 78 grains was found at Cann, near Shaftesbury, in 1848, with a human skeleton and a bronze Celt. The latter is of the socketed form, and like fig 284 in Wilde's Catalogue of the Museum Royal Irish Academy, but longer in projection. It is now in Mr Durden's Collection. <1> <2>
