Summary

The truncated remains of a possible Middle Bronze Age cremation cemetery was found at Manor Farm Quarry during archaeological evaluation by AC archaeology. Three small pits containing Middle Bronze Age pottery, one of which also contained cremated human bone were discovered. To the north of these small pits was a small ditch containing Middle Bronze Age pottery.

Full Description

A pit containing Middle Bronze Age pottery and cremated human bone was found during an archaeological evaluation at Manor Farm Quarry by AC archaeology. This appears to be the truncated remains of an urned cremation burial in a small pit. Another similar small pit containing Middle Bronze Age pottery was also found and may be the remains of another urned cremation. (1) Another small pit was found during a second stage of archaeological evaluation, together with a ditch containing Middle Bronze Age pottery. (2)"
