Summary
A small early Roman ditch, aligned NNE-SSW, was found during a watching brief at 49 Blandford Road, Hamworthy. It contained some Roman pottery and briquetage.

Full Description
A ditch (ditch 121), oriented roughly NNE-SSW, was found during a watching brief carried out by Terrain Archaeology to the rear of 49 Blandford Road, Hamworthy, in 2004. The ditch was about 0.9 m wide and 0.55 m deep and was filled with yellowish brown clayey sand. It contained a single sherd of Black Burnished Ware pottery and some briquetage. The ditch was at right angles to a ditch found at 45 Blandford Road.
