Summary
A Roman ditch oriented NE-SW was found immediately south of Blandford Road in the entrance to Hamworthy First School during a watching brief in 2003.

Full Description
A watching brief during the formation of a new entrance for Hamworthy First School undertaken by Terrain Archaeology in 2003 revealed a ditch (ditch 102) 1.0 m wide and aligned roughly NE-SW. It had a rounded profile 0.24 m deep. It was filled with dark grey silty sand and contained two small abraded sherds ofRoman pottery.
