Summary
A series of up to fifteen lengths of ditch aligned N-S or NW-SE were noted at Carter's Tile Works in 1926. These were filled with dark silt and some contained quantities of briquetage. They may be associated with salt working and are probably early Roman in date.

Full Description
A series of up to fifteen lengths of ditch aligned N-S or NW-SE were noted at Carter's Tile Works in 1926. These were filled with dark silt and some contained quantities of briquetage. One contained significant quantities of clay. Three short lengths of ditch appeared to converge, but details on their form and relationship is lacking. These ditches may be associated with salt working and are probably early Roman in date. (1)
