Full Description

Sections of two ditches running parallel and eight metres apart were observed during a watching brief carried out by Poole Museum at Hamworthy Lodge, Blandford Close, Hamworthy in 1989. These ditches were 1.5 m wide and 0.3 m deep. No dating evidence was recovered. The alignment and location of these ditches suggested that they may have been the flanking ditches of a Roman road projected to cross this area.
