Excavations at the former James Brothers site revealed two small lengths of ditch containing Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age pottery. These features had been cut by later features on the site and not enough survives to enable the extent and character of the activity to be determined.

Some evidence for Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age activity was recorded during excavations by Wessex Archaeology on the former James Brothers site, Blandford Road, Hamworthy in 2008-9. Two short lengths of gully, cut by later features produced some Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age pottery. Not enough of these features survived to be able to characterise the nature and extent of this activity.
