Summary
Excavation at the Old Orchard Car Park has produced evidence for Roman and 12th-18th century ocupation. A rubbish pit containing a large group of late fifteenth/early sixteenth century pottery was found during rescue excavations by Poole Museum in 1973.

Full Description
SZ 011904. Traces of Roman material were revealed by excavations at Old Orchard Car Park, Poole, but the first major structural phase was of the early 12th century. Occupation was then continuous until the 18th century. (1)
A rubbish pit containing a large group of late fifteenth/early sixteenth century pottery was found during rescue excavations by Poole Museum on the Old Orchard Car Park site in 1973. (2)
