Second World War beach defences are visible on aerial photographs of 1942 along the beach front at Bournemouth. The beach defences extend from Lilliput Pier in the north, to the northern end of Banks Road in the south. (1-2) This area of defences appears to have been removed later in the Second World War. This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
