A Second World War bomb crater is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1947, to the south of Portland Avenue and to the east of Rocket Corner, in the central area of Brownsea Island. The crater is visible as a sub-circular depression, measuring 11 m in diameter, surrounded by a bank of spoil. (1) The site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
