A circular hollow is visible as an earthworks on aerial photographs of saltmarsh along the northern edge of Wareham Channel taken in 1947 (1). It is considered likely to be the remains of a bomb crater associated with Second World War activity in the area.It is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagey available to the project (2). This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
