A group of early modern buildings, are visible as structures on aerial photographs of 1951 to the east of Gravel Point. Six buildings are visible in the area of the modern ferry office and boat park and may have been associated with similar activities on the site at an earlier date. The buildings range in size, measuring between 11 m by 5 m and 18 m by 5 m. (1) The buildings are not visible on modern maps or the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
