Full Description
An area of late Prehistoric field boundaries is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 to the west of Steamer Point Woodland, Christchurch. The features are visible predominantly as banks scattered over an area measuring approximately 456 m by 185 m. They are oriented south west-north east and east-west and measure up to 127 m in length. The boundaries do not form a clear pattern but may be the remains of a larger system. (1) The area has now been built over. This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
