Full Description

A possible late post medieval or early modern jetty or pier is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of 1947 on Mudeford Spit to the north of Hengistbury Head. The structure extends to the west for a distance of 47 m, broadening out at its western end. (1) The possible jetty is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
