A Second World War Type 22 pillbox is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of 1945 to the east of Double Dykes, Hengistbury Head. The pillbox was probably an outlying part of the defences around the Chain Home radar station on Hengistbury Head.

A Second World War Type 22 pillbox is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of 1945 to the east of Double Dykes, Hengistbury Head. The pillbox was probably an outlying part of the defences around the Chain Home radar station on Hengistbury Head. (1) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
