A submerged linear bank of unknown function and possible post medieval date is visible as a structure on aerial photographs of 1969 lying parallel to the north of the Hengistbury Head. The bank measures 17 m in length. (1) The bank is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project but may survive as a submerged feature. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
