Summary
A vessel is visible as an abandoned or wrecked structure on aerial photographs of Arne Bay taken in 1952. It is considered possible it could be the remains of a military vessel associated with a Second World War hard located 500m to the south-west (MWX4735).

Full Description
A vessel, approximately 20.3m x 9.4m, is visible as an abandoned or wrecked structure on aerial photographs of Arne Bay taken in 1952 (1). It is considered possible it could be the remains of a military vessel associated with a Second World War embarkation hard located 500m to the south-west (MWX4735). It was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). This feature is not visible on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (2).
