A 19th century or early modern groyne is visible on aerial photographs of the 1945 in the intertidal zone to the west of White Pits. The groyne is visible as a linear structure with a total length of 20 m. (1) The site is not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial imagery available to the project. (2) This site was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset).
