A circular feature, approximately 13m in diameter, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of Arne Hill taken in 1947 (1). It is considered likely to be the remains of a bomb crater associated with Second World War activity in this area. This feature was digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). It is not visible on the most recent comprehensive imagery available to the project (2), this area now being under dense vegetation cover.
